OMB Updates E-Government Metrics Tracking Customer Service and Satisfaction

Washington - The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) today released updated E-Government metrics and target goals for each of the E-Government initiatives measuring the impact, utilization, and effectiveness of programs on the users of these services. Additionally, measures have been established for five additional E-Government initiatives and three Lines of Business (LoBs) initiatives.

“The updated E-Government metrics reflect the continued improvement of our Presidential initiatives,” said OMB E-Government Administrator Karen Evans. “The initial posting published targets for each of the initiatives that will drive further usage, adoption, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. The updates posted today illustrate our commitment to making sure these goals for our E-Gov initiatives are strongly rooted in serving our citizen better and strengthening program performance.”

These metrics were released for the first time in December 2006, in conjunction with the 4th Anniversary of the E-Government Act of 2002. During this last year, adoption, participation, and customer satisfaction of 18 Presidential E-Government initiatives continued to be tracked in order to provide a complete, timely, and accurate assessment of the usage of and benefits delivered to citizens, businesses, and government agencies alike.
