Secretary of Labor Elaine L. Chao spoke at the U.S. Department of Labor Office of Disability Employment Policy summit, “Transforming the American Workplace: A 21st Century Vision", which focused on including people with disabilities in the American workforce and continuing to reduce barriers to employment at Gallaudet University's Kellogg Conference Center in Washington, D.C.
"Our mission is to continue to promote a culture of inclusiveness in the best tradition of our nation," said U.S. Secretary of Labor Elaine L. Chao in her keynote speech to summit attendees. "Hiring Americans with disabilities is not only the right thing to do — it is the smart thing to do.
