Forest Service Mourns The Death of a Law Enforcement Officer

U.S. Forest Service Chief Abigail Kimbell says "it is with deep sorrow that I pass this message to you that 51-year old Kristine Fairbanks, a Forest Service Law Enforcement Officer, was shot and killed after making a routine traffic stop on the Olympic Peninsula, in Washington State this past Saturday. This incident reminds all of us that law enforcement is a very dangerous business. Please keep Kristine's family, loved ones, and friends, and fellow Forest Service employees in your thoughts and prayers during this time of sorrow." more.
