Welcome to the home page for the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service's Southeast Region, also known as Region 4. The Southeast Region covers an area more than 430,000 square miles, which includes the states of Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, as well as the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.

We invite you to explore the information, that we are happy to share with you here, about our activities throughout the Region. Our work supports the overall Fish & Wildlife Service mission to conserve, protect and enhance the nation's fish and wildlife and their habitats for the continuing benefit of the American people.

Our regional office is in Atlanta, Georgia, a vibrant and exciting Southern city. From here, we oversee 128 national wildlife refuges totaling a little more than 3.7 million acres, 19 national fish hatcheries, 4 fishery assistance offices, 15 ecological services field offices and 28 law enforcement offices scattered throughout the southeast. Region-wide, the Service employs 1,200-plus workers.
