Gabe L. Sierra
Chief of Staff
for Occupational Safety and Health
As Chief of Staff, Gabe L. Sierra will serve as a senior member of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s management team and work with Assistant Secretary of Labor for Occupational Safety and Health Edwin G. Foulke, Jr., and others on agency policy, oversight and management.
Named by Assistant Secretary Foulke, Sierra was selected to be the Chief of Staff on November 20, 2006.
Immediately prior to this position, Sierra worked six years for Emerson Process Management as a Senior Marketing Manager. In that capacity, Sierra managed new technology development programs for the industrial process automation industry. From 1999 to 2000, he was a volunteer economic development advisor with MBA Enterprise Corps, part of the Citizens Development Corps, in Bulgaria where he consulted small and medium businesses. He also worked six years as a Project Manager for large scale construction projects in the petrochemical industry.
Sierra, a native of Miami, Florida, graduated from the University of Florida in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. He also earned an MBA in Finance from Indiana University in 1999.
Sierra resides in the Washington, D.C. area.
