OSHA Offers Free Seminar for Personal
Health Care Facilities in Lima, Ohio Area

TOLEDO, Ohio -- Protecting workers and cutting injury compensation costs are the results OSHA expects personal health care facility operators to enjoy after participating in a half-day free seminar provided by the agency on May 24 in Lima, Ohio.

One in a series of half-day seminars scheduled throughout the state, the Lima area seminar will be held at the UAW/Ford/Rhodes State Training Center, 1155 Bible Road, Lima, Ohio from 8:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Registration for the seminar is requested and may be completed by sending a fax message to OSHA at 419-259-6355. OSHA asks that you include the number of persons attending from the registering organization.

The seminar will provide advice and guidance on OSHA regulations and best practices in dealing with such areas as bloodborne pathogens, ergonomic hazards, workplace violence, hazard communication, lockout/tagout requirements, and recordkeeping. Recent efforts by individual operators of personal health care facilities have shown a marked improvement in worker safety and health, with a resulting savings to employers in reduced workplace compensation costs.

Further information on the seminar may be obtained by calling the Toledo OSHA area office at 419-259-7542. Nine additional seminars are scheduled across the state in May and June.
