OSHA Reschedules Cranes and Derricks Meeting

WASHINGTON -- The Cranes and Derrick Negotiated Rulemaking Committee will hold its next public meeting in Washington, D.C., May 4-7. The meeting was originally scheduled for March 29.

Notice of the change is scheduled to be published in the March 15 Federal Register.

The committee is chartered to function as a part of OSHA's rulemaking process to revise the existing standards for cranes and derricks in construction. Members of the committee will identify key issues, evaluate their importance, analyze the information necessary to resolve the issues, and work to reach a consensus on the coverage and the substance of a recommendation. If the committee reaches a consensus, the recommendation on proposed regulatory language will be submitted to the Assistant Secretary of Labor for Occupational Safety and Health.

Minutes of committee meetings and materials prepared for the committee will be available for public inspection on the OSH Docket webpage: http://dockets.osha.gov, or at the OSHA Docket Office, N-2625 of the Department of Labor Building (202-693-2350).
