Rollout of Grant to Sabre Foundation Providing Books to Children in Cuba This Monday, December 9, at 9:00 am, Assistant Secretary for Democracy, Human Rights and Labor Lorne Craner and Acting Assistant Secretary for Western Hemisphere Affairs Curt Struble will announce a grant to the Sabre Foundation. This grant is for the purpose of sending Spanish-language children’s books donated by U.S. publishers and other sourcesto Cuban children.
The announcement will be held in the State Department Press Briefing Room (Room 2209), 2201 “C” Street, Washington, D.C. Press should arrive at the 23rd Street Entrance to the building by 8:45 am. This event is on the record. Cameras are allowed.
Media representatives may attend this event upon presentation of either (1) a U.S. Government-issued identification card (Department of State, White House, Congress, Department of Defense, or Foreign Press Center), (2) a photo ID issued by the employing media organization, or (3) a letter on official letterhead from their news organization verifying their employment as a journalist, accompanied by an official photo ID (drivers’ license or passport).
