ACCSH PUBLIC MEETING SCHEDULED FOR FEB. 17 IN ROSEMONT, IL

WASHINGTON -- The Advisory Committee on Construction Safety and Health (ACCSH) will hold an open meeting in Rosemont, Ill. on Feb. 17, 2005.

ACCSH advises the assistant secretary on standards, polices and practices related to the protection of construction workers from worksite hazards.

The committee will meet from 9:30 - 1:30 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Select O'Hare, 10233 West Higgins Road, Rosemont, Ill., 60018. The following ACCSH workgroups will also meet on the 17th at the same location: Rollover Protection Structures (ROPS), from 8:30-9:30 a.m.; Trenching, from 2:30-4 p.m.

Agenda items include presentations and discussions on steel erection, slipperiness of metal decking, vanishing oils, and consideration of the draft proposal on confined spaces in construction.

Written data, views or comments for consideration by the committee may be submitted to U.S. Department of Labor, OSHA, Room N-3647, 200 Constitution Ave., NW, Washington, D.C., 20210. Twenty copies are needed. Those submissions received prior to the meeting will be included in the record of the meeting.

Anyone wishing to make an oral presentation to the committee on any of the agenda items should notify OSHA at the above address. The request should specify the amount of time desired, the capacity in which the person will appear and a brief outline of the presentation. ACCSH may grant requests to speak, as time permits, at the discretion of the ACCSH chairperson.

Notice of this meeting is scheduled to appear in the Feb. 2 Federal Register.
