OSHA and Contractors Team Up For Safety and Health
Offer Training for Idaho's Residential Construction Industry

SEATTLE -- The U.S. Labor Department's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is co-sponsoring four training sessions on "Safety and Health Training in the Residential Construction Industry" with the Idaho Associated General Contractors and Idaho Building Contractors Association.

The training sessions will be held in:

Idaho Falls, March 17, at the Red Lion on the River, 475 River Parkway, 6-9 p.m.
Pocatello, March 18, Holiday Inn, 1399 Bench Road, 6-9 p.m.
Twin Falls, April 6, College of Southern Idaho, 315 Falls Ave., Taylor Bldg., Room 276, 6-9 p.m.
Post Falls, April 28, Red Lion Templins Hotel, 414 East First Avenue, 6-9 p.m.

OSHA's area office in Boise initiated the training, which is a key feature of a "local emphasis program" and aimed at reducing job hazards in the residential construction industry. Company owners, mangers, supervisors and foremen will learn about OSHA standards for residential construction, criteria for fall protection systems and equipment and how to prepare for safety inspections.

Cost for each training session is $10 for AGC and IBAC members and $15 for others.
