    June 21,2006 participated in a joint partnership kickoff meeting to encourage further participation in OSHA’s VPP cooperative program.

    May 24, 2007 Fort Lewis Safety Stand Down Day – joint OSHA and Fort Lewis booth promoting our alliance and providing emergency response information. Booth included variety of testing equipment, outfitted mannequins in Level A and C, and personal protective equipment that would be used in emergencies. Emergency response material was distributed including a couple hundred quick cards on the pandemic flu, spiders, heat stress, etc.

    OSHA provided cross training to Fort Lewis safety staff. Staff has participated in all construction inspections occurring on the base, road construction on an inspection in Rainier National Park and are scheduled to participate in a logging inspection in the future.

    Fort Lewis provided information and discussion on the consolidation of the Fort Lewis Garrison and McChord Air Force Base to Bellevue Area Office staff.

  • Products

    An Incident Command System structure laminated card has been drafted. The intent is for the cards to be used in our joint emergency response exercises to prompt participants in the incident command system structure and functions.

IV. Results

The alliance has facilitated regular communication via phone and email between our offices that has resulted in the quick resolution of safety and health issues.

V. Upcoming Milestones

Completion of the ICS laminated card

Joint emergency response exercise with McChord emergency response team

Coordination of efforts if response is required on the Washington side of the Columbia River during TopOff exercise.

Participation in Cascade Castle Emergency Response exercise at Fort Lewis.
