American Family Immigration History Center
This website, sponsored by the American Family Immigration History Center (AFIHC), provides basic factual knowledge regarding the history of Immigration to the United States. Individuals with enough knowledge of their ancestry are able to search for relatives by clicking the link "Passenger Search." This feature essentially allows one to search the "ship manifests", or detailed passenger lists, which ship companies used to track their passengers.

American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA)
The American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) is the national association of over 8,000 attorneys and law professors who practice and teach immigration law. AILA member attorneys represent tens of thousands of U.S. families who have applied for permanent residence for their spouses, children, and other close relatives to lawfully enter and reside in the United States.

Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services (BCIS)
Created as a separate bureau by the Homeland Security Act of 2002, the Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services (BCIS) allows the Department of Homeland Security to improve the administration of benefits and immigration services for applicants by exclusively focusing on immigration and citizenship services.

Center for Immigration Studies
The Center for Immigration Studies is an independent, non-partisan, non-profit research organization founded in 1985. It is the nation's only think tank devoted exclusively to research and policy analysis of the economic, social, demographic, fiscal, and other impacts of immigration on the United States

National Immigration Forum
The purpose of the National Immigration Forum is to embrace and uphold America's tradition as a nation of immigrants. The Forum advocates and builds public support for public policies that welcome immigrants and refugees and that are fair and supportive to newcomers in our country.

National Network for Immigrant and Refugee Rights (NNIRR)
The National Network for Immigrant and Refugee Rights is a national organization composed of local coalitions and immigrant, refugee, community, religious, civil rights and labor organizations and activists. It serves as a forum to share information and analysis, to educate communities and the general public, and to develop and coordinate plans of action on important immigrant and refugee issues.

National Park Service
This website provides a brief factual overview of the island as well as a list of current news and events pertaining to Ellis Island.

United States Census Bureau Immigration Data
The U.S. Census Bureau makes estimates of net international migration for the nation, states, and counties in the United States. These estimates are based in part on data collected in censuses and surveys. Projections of the U.S. population are also made using assumptions about net international migration.

University of Minnesota Immigration History Research Center
Founded in 1965, the Immigration History Research Center enriches society by preserving and promoting understanding of the history of the American immigrant experience.
