WASHINGTON -- The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is holding an open meeting of the Maritime Advisory Committee for Occupational Safety and Health (MACOSH) in Baltimore, Md., Wednesday and Thursday, Feb. 7-8. The committee will meet from 8:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. in the Severn II and III rooms Feb. 7 and from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Chesapeake I room Feb. 8 at the Sheraton Inner Harbor, 300 South Charles Street, Baltimore, Md., 21202. The 15-person committee advises the Assistant Secretary of Labor for Occupational Safety and Health on issues relating to occupational safety and health in the maritime industries. Written comments and requests to make oral presentations may be submitted to Vanessa Welch, Office of Maritime, U.S. Department of Labor, Room N3622, 200 Constitution Ave., N.W., Washington, D.C. 20210, no later than Jan. 31. Presentation requests should specify the amount of time desired, the capacity in which the person will appear, and a brief outline of the presentation. Requests to speak may be granted by the Committee Chairperson as time permits. Individuals with disabilities wishing to attend the meeting should contact Ms. Welch at (202) 693-2086 no later than Jan. 31 to obtain appropriate accommodations. Notice of the MACOSH meeting is expected to appear in the Jan. 18, 2007 Federal Register.
