OSHA Offers Webcast Training on Recordkeeping Rule
National Satellite Broadcast Set for Dec. 12, 2001
Washington, DC -- At over 200 locations throughout the country, employers and employees will participate in an OSHA recordkeeping training session via a satellite broadcast. Others not at the sites can access the information via the web by linking to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration's website at www.osha-slc.gov/recordkeeping/RKsatellite.html.

The training focuses on OSHA's updated injury and illness recordkeeping requirements that will take effect Jan. 1, 2002 and cover about 1.4 million employers. The webcast presentation will remain on OSHA's website through July 30, 2002.

The webcast will be open to the first 5,000 people. The live event is set for 1 pm to 3:30 pm EST on December 12. Those participating in the live session will have the opportunity of asking questions. For those who cannot attend the live event, the questions and answers will be included in the archived webcast available for six months.

A listing of sites where the live broadcast can be viewed is available as a downloadable PDF file at the following URL: http://www.osha-slc.gov/recordkeeping/satellitedownlinksites.pdf. Contact your local OSHA office for details about locations -- community colleges and other local organizations -- that will offer the satellite broadcast. Additional materials about the recordkeeping rule can be found on OSHA's website: www.osha.gov.
