NEW YORK -- The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the Center for Community Problem Solving at New York University (NYU) will hold a Latino Workers Conference at NYU on Thursday, Sept. 29. The free conference is directed toward faith-based and community organizations, consulates and other groups interested in reaching out to the Hispanic community. Participants will be briefed on OSHA's activities with community and faith-based organizations, Latin American consulates, professional and employer organizations and others in reducing work-related illness, injuries and deaths among Hispanic workers. They will learn how an organization can become an alliance partner with OSHA, and how the Center for Community Problem Solving and other organizations are working to promote workers' rights to safe working conditions and fair hours and wages.
