Crane and Derrick Negotiated Rulemaking Committee Extends Meeting in Phoenix to June 1-4

WASHINGTON, DC -- The Crane and Derrick Negotiated Rulemaking Committee has extended its meeting in Phoenix, AZ. The meeting will be held June 1-4. The committee was originally scheduled to meet June 2-4.

The committee will meet at the Home Builders Association of Central Arizona facility, 3200 East Camelback Road, Suite 180, Phoenix, AZ. The meeting will begin at 1 pm on June 1 and at 8:30 a.m. on June 2-4.

The committee will primarily review draft materials on issues discussed at prior meetings.

The committee is chartered to function as a part of OSHA's rulemaking process to revise the existing standards for cranes and derricks in construction. Members of the committee identify key issues, evaluate their importance, analyze the information necessary to resolve the issues, and work to reach a consensus on the coverage and the substance of a recommendation. If the committee reaches a consensus, the recommendation on proposed regulatory language will be submitted to the Assistant Secretary of Labor for Occupational Safety and Health.

Notice of the meeting extension is scheduled to appear in the May 17 Federal Register. Written comments to the committee may be submitted to the OSHA Docket Office, Docket No. S-030, Room N-2625, U.S. Department of Labor, 200 Constitution Ave., NW, Washington, D.C. Comments may also be submitted via fax by calling (202) 693-2350, or electronically to http://ecomments.osha.gov.
