OSHA Seeking Nominations for Advisory Committee On Construction Safety and Health

WASHINGTON -- The Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) announced today in the Federal Register that nominations are being accepted for persons to serve on the Advisory Committee on Construction Safety and Health (ACCSH). The committee was established under section 7 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 and section 107 of the Contract Work Hours and Safety Standards Act to advise the Assistant Secretary on occupational safety and health standards and policy affecting the construction industry.

Nominations will be accepted for eight vacancies on the 15-member committee in the following categories: construction employer representative, construction employee representative, state safety and health agencies representative and two construction safety and health experts. Members will serve a staggered two-year term. Any interested person or organization may nominate one or more qualified persons for membership.

Nominees should be identified by name, place of birth, occupation or position, address and telephone number. The category which the candidate would represent should be specified and a resume of the nominee's background, experience, and qualifications should be included.

Nominations must be submitted no later than (30 days after publication in Federal Register) and should be submitted to the OSHA Docket Office, Room N-2625, U.S. Department of Labor, 200 Constitution Ave. NW, Washington, D.C. 20210. The phone number is (202) 693-2350.

Nominations are also accepted electronically (see FRN for instructions), by FAX, messenger, or courier service. All nominations for ACCSH must include the agency name and docket number for this Federal Register notice (Docket No. ACCSH 2007-1).
