ROBERT D. MILLER JR. APPOINTED ACTING U.S. TRUSTEE
FOR WASHINGTON, OREGON, MONTANA, IDAHO, AND ALASKA
WASHINGTON, D.C.–Robert D. Miller Jr., has been appointed Acting United States
Trustee for Washington, Oregon, Montana, Idaho, and Alaska (Region 18) for an interim period
effective on February 4, 2008, it was announced today by Clifford J. White III, Director of the
Executive Office for United States Trustees. Mr. Miller replaces Ilene Lashinsky, U.S. Trustee
for Region 14, who has also served as U.S. Trustee for Region 18 since January 2004.
Mr. Miller has headed the U.S. Trustee Program’s office in Spokane, Wash., since 1988.
In addition, he served in the Executive Office as Acting Assistant Director for Review and
Oversight from October 2005 to July 2007, and as Acting Assistant Director for Research and
Planning from May 2006 to May 2007. Before joining the U.S. Trustee Program, Mr. Miller was
an estate administrator for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Washington. He
received a law degree from Gonzaga University School of Law in Spokane, a Master of Business
Administration from Northwestern University School of Business in Evanston, Ill., and an
undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College in Hanover, N.H.
The U.S. Trustee Program is the component of the Justice Department that protects the
integrity of the bankruptcy system by overseeing case administration and litigating to enforce the
bankruptcy laws. The Program has 21 regions and 95 field offices. Region 18 is headquartered in
Seattle, with additional offices in Spokane, Wash.; Portland and Eugene, Ore.; Great Falls,
Mont.; Boise, Idaho; and Anchorage, Alaska.
