Contract Specialist

The U.S. Department of State must procure a wide variety of supplies, skills and services to operate effectively and efficiently around the world. You will be involved in the procurement and negotiation of agreements in the best interests of the U.S. Government.

Accountant and Auditor

The challenges here are equal to the work being done for a multinational company. You will determine the accounting and financial requirements to address the needs of our worldwide operations.

Economist

Financial Management Specialist

In order for the U.S. Department of State to be fiscally responsible, we need people who can identify and resolve operational irregularities and problems; provide financial advice and analyses; and be involved in a variety of financial management improvement projects.

Budget Officer

Foreign Affairs and International Policy and Operations

Foreign Affairs Officer

The challenges you'll take on as a Foreign Affairs Officer will directly contribute to policy making in Washington, D.C. You could work with interagency partners, Congress or our overseas posts to help formulate and implement policy decisions, and manage foreign policy programs. Your assignments could relate to regional affairs or transnational issues such as arms control, drugs, terrorism, environmental issues or humanitarian affairs.

Civilian Response Corps Officer

The Active Component of the Civilian Response Corps is expeditionary diplomacy at its best: the team of “first responders” who plan and implement critical Reconstruction and Stabilization (R&S) activities in countries at risk of, in, or transitioning from conflict or civil strife. Civilian Response Corps officers train for, plan, support, and conduct U.S. Government R&S field operations and must be available to deploy worldwide within 48 hours of call-up. Passport and Visa Specialist

In this vital job of serving American and foreign citizens, you will assist U.S. citizens in crisis situations, determine applicants' claims to American citizenship, issue passports and adjudicate requests for visas based upon applicants' eligibility for admission to the United States.

Public Affairs Specialist

Represent America to the world as you disseminate information about our programs through newspapers, radio, television, magazines, speeches and briefings for audiences in Washington, D.C., and throughout the United States.


International and Domestic Security

Protect America at home and abroad as you gather information on terrorist incidents and other criminal activities that pose potential threats; conduct background investigations and investigate passport and visa fraud; or protect U.S. and overseas employees, property, buildings and information against terrorists, foreign intelligence and criminals.

Intelligence Analyst

This is an ideal opportunity to utilize your expertise in a specific functional area or geographic region. Analysts at the U.S. Department of State advise, perform research and provide analysis in support of the formulation and direction of foreign policy. Other analysts gather information on terrorist incidents and other criminal activities to determine potential threats to our employees and facilities.

Criminal Investigator

Choose a career in the protection of America. Our investigators are qualified to carry weapons, have arrest authority and provide a variety of security functions. Your responsibilities could range from conducting background investigations on personnel, to passport and visa fraud investigations, counterintelligence, and other criminal investigations. Other responsibilities could also include investigating alleged espionage incidents and conducting damage assessments.

Security Specialist

Electronic Engineers
