ATTORNEY GENERAL JANET RENO TO ADDRESS THE

NATIONAL METHAMPHETAMINE CHEMICALS INITIATIVE


WASHINGTON, D.C. - Attorney General Janet Reno will travel to Atlanta on Wednesday, September 13 to address the 3rd Annual National Methamphetamine Chemicals Initiative Meeting. The Attorney General, who will deliver remarks at 10 a.m., will discuss the dangers of methamphetamine and the efforts of communities to build coalitions to attack the problem throughout the country.

The remainder of the National Methamphetamine Chemicals Initiative (NMCI) Meeting is closed to the press.

The NMCI is comprised of approximately 200 federal, state and local investigators and agents, prosecutors, intelligence analysts, and government chemists from across the country whose primary responsibilities are methamphetamine and chemical enforcement. The meeting will focus on methamphetamine and chemical trends and on chemical enforcement, investigations and strategies.
