     ERIC H. HOLDER TO BE SWORN IN AS DEPUTY ATTORNEY GENERAL

     WASHINGTON D.C. --  Deputy Attorney General Eric H. Holder
will be formally sworn in tomorrow, Friday, September 5, 1997 at
3:00 p.m. in the Great Hall of the Main Justice Building. 

     Attorney General Janet Reno and Secretary of Labor Alexis
Herman will speak.  Harry T. Edwards, Chief Judge of the U.S. Court
of Appeals, D.C. Circuit will perform the official installation.

     T.V. coverage will consist of a network pool arrangement.  A
live feed is available through a mult box located in Room 2317, the
access room to the Great Hall.  Any reporter wishing to cover the
