FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE UST MONDAY, FEBRUARY 5, 1996 (202) 616-2765 TDD (202) 514-1888 JANICE CHENIER TAYLOR NAMED U.S. TRUSTEE FOR REGION 5 WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Janice Chenier Taylor has been appointed U.S. Trustee for Region 5 by Attorney General Janet Reno, the Department of Justice announced today. Taylor, acting U.S. Trustee in New Orleans since January 1995, will oversee the administration of bankruptcy cases in Louisiana and Mississippi. Taylor, who joined the U.S. Trustees in September 1993, assumed the post January 1. Taylor, a graduate of the University of Southwestern Louisiana and Howard University School of Law, worked in the Internal Revenue Service's Tax Litigation Division in Washington for one year and was an IRS trial attorney in New Orleans for 10 years. New Orleans is the principal office for Region 5. She is a past president of the New Orleans Association of Black Women Attorneys and a member of the Louis Martinet Legal Society and the American Bar Association. She serves on the Metropolitan Advisory Board of the YMCA and is a parliamentarian of the Crescent City Chapter of Links Inc., an international women's service organization.
