Component Description

OFFICE OF THE DIRECTOR (DO)
This office supports the Director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy in the management of the agency and the development and coordination of drug control policy. This office works to ensure Administration and agency goals are achieved for every component within ONDCP.

OFFICE OF THE DEPUTY DIRECTOR (DD)
This office focuses on building capacity within community organizations to prevent substance use among youth and strengthen communities. The direct technical assistance and coordination provided by the Major Cities and Critical Areas (MCCA) initiative helps leaders coordinate a community-wide response to local drug problems. Additionally, the Drug Free Communities (DFC) program provides matching grants to drug-free community coalitions who are working to reduce youth drug use.

COUNTERDRUG TECHNOLOGY ASSESSMENT CENTER (CTAC)
This office coordinates research and development activities in both supply and demand reduction areas, and manages the Technology Transfer Program, which provides counterdrug equipment to State and local law enforcement agencies.

OFFICE OF DEMAND REDUCTION (ODR)
This office coordinates substance abuse prevention and treatment policy for Federal agencies and supports State, local, and tribal efforts to enhance prevention and treatment programs and initiatives. This office seeks to prevent and reduce substance abuse initiation and dependence, and promotes effective treatment programs for those suffering from the disease of addiction.

OFFICE OF INTELLIGENCE (OI)
This office provides analytic support to the Director and Offices of Supply Reduction as well as State, Local, and Tribal Affairs. OI coordinates with the Federal intelligence community and law enforcement intelligence counterdrug efforts.

OFFICE OF GENERAL COUNSEL (OGC)
This office provides legal guidance on all aspects of agency business and policy development. This office handles all Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, and provides ethics and oversight training, guidance, and development.

OFFICE OF LEGISLATIVE AFFAIRS (OLA)
This office works to advance the Administration's drug policy goals with Congress through outreach to Members of Congress, Committees, Caucuses, and their respective staff. This office is responsible for ONDCP involvement in Congressional hearings, and the development of legislative strategies for drug policy issues.

OFFICE OF MANAGEMENT AND ADMINISTRATION (OMA)
This office provides financial management, human resources support, travel services, security, and information technology resources for the agency. This office handles both physical and technological infrastructure and conditions.

OFFICE OF NATIONAL YOUTH ANTIDRUG MEDIA CAMPAIGN (MEDIA)
This office manages the National Youth Anti-Drug Media Campaign, an integrated, social marketing campaign which includes advertising and public relations strategies—from online advertising to traditional media—to reduce drug use among America's youth.

OFFICE OF PERFORMANCE AND BUDGET (OPB)
This office coordinates policy and budget development and program evaluation for the Federal drug control program.

OFFICE OF PUBLIC AFFAIRS (PAO)
This office interacts with every agency component to develop and implement comprehensive communications strategies that advance ONDCP's policies and priorities.

OFFICE OF STATE, LOCAL, AND TRIBAL AFFAIRS (OSLTA)
This office coordinates Federal efforts to disrupt the market for illegal drugs through Federal, State, local, and tribal law enforcement and manages the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) program, which provides grants to multi-jurisdictional counterdrug task forces. OSLTA also supports State and local government officials and entities in their efforts to reduce substance abuse at the community level.

OFFICE OF SUPPLY REDUCTION (OSR)
This office coordinates international diplomatic, policy, and program efforts to disrupt the market for illegal drugs. In conjunction with the Department of State, OSR supports the efforts of foreign governments, in their efforts to reduce the production, trafficking, and abuse of illegal drugs.
