U.S. Marshals Arrest Self Proclaimed “Vampire” Wanted on Child Molestation Charges
 
Jacksonville, FL - Members of the U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force (FRFTF) received a request on August 11th from the Jacksonville Sheriffs Office to assist in locating and apprehending Jeffrey Michael Mitchell, also known as – “Draven”. Mitchell was wanted for sexually assaulting a four year old little girl here in Jacksonville, Florida in May 2008.

The FRFTF immediately began to gather information on Mitchell. They found out that Mitchell always wore long black clothing and he believed that he was actually a vampire. Mitchell was so consumed with this belief; he even capped his teeth so that he would appear as a vampire and referred to himself as “Draven”. The FRFTF also obtained information that he would only work enough hours to support his pot smoking habit.

On August 18th, the FRFTF obtained information that Mitchell ran from the state of Florida and was now residing in Virginia Beach, Virginia; the FRFTF immediately notified the United States Marshals office in Norfolk, Virginia of this information. In the early morning hours on August 19th, Deputies with the U.S. Marshals Service, Capital Area Task Force, out of the Norfolk, Virginia office proceeded to the address that Mitchell was believed to be residing at in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Mitchell was found at this residence and taken into custody without incident. Along with Mitchell being found at this residence, two minor children were found. At this time the U.S. Marshals Task Force along with local law enforcement agencies in Virginia Beach, Virginia are investigating Mitchell into new allegations of sexual molestation charges.

The U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force is comprised of federal, state and local law enforcement officers. The members of the task force combine resources and efforts daily to apprehend violent fugitives of justice in the Jacksonville area, as well as nationwide through networking with task forces across the country.
