Cleveland, OH – In the early morning of July 14, 2008, the U.S. Marshals
Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force apprehended Terry Davy on Mt.
Auburn Avenue in Cleveland. Davy was wanted for escape from the Harbor Light
half-way house by the State of Ohio and also for violation of his federal
supervised release. Davy was serving time for convictions of felonious
assault, weapons charges and drug charges.
On Sunday, July 13, 2008, Davy was profiled in The Plain Dealer in Cleveland
as the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force’s Fugitive of the Week. The
Task Force received an anonymous tip that Davy was living at a residence on
Mt. Auburn Avenue and that he was in possession of a firearm.
As Task Force Officers entered the residence this morning, Davy leaped out
of a window, wearing only his underwear and fled on foot from the Task Force
Officers. After a brief foot chase through several yards and over several
fences, Task Force Officers apprehended him as he attempted to leap over
another fence. At the conclusion of the arrest, a handgun was found in the
same bedroom that Davy was sleeping in prior to leaping out of the window.
Assistant Chief Deputy U.S. Marshal Drew Deserto states, “This is another
great example of the effectiveness of the partnership between law
enforcement and the media. With the help of our friends at the media, as
well as concerned citizens, our Task Force was able to bring in another
violent fugitive and take another dangerous weapon off the streets of
Cleveland.”
