International Fugitive Arrested After Being
Deported from China |

Indianapolis, IN – On May 17, 2008, Brian
Woodring was arrested at O’Hare International Airport in Chicago, IL
following his deportation from China. Woodring is a convicted child molester
wanted out of Indiana for a parole violation. Woodring has two class A
felony warrants for child molesting out of Morgan and Johnson County.
Additionally, Woodring has warrants for one class C felony for child
molesting, one class D felony for failure to register as a sex offender and
possession of child pornography in Johnson County.
On March 17, 2008, Woodring was arrested in the Zhejiang Province by Chinese
authorities for immigration violations. On May 15, Deputy US Marshal’s from
the Northern District of Illinois and the Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task
Force traveled to Shanghai and escorted Woodring back to the United States.
Woodring was turned over to Task Force Officers in Chicago and booked on the
state charges. The arrest and deportation of Woodring was the result of
extensive coordination between the United States Marshals Service, Southern
District of Indiana, the Diplomatic Security Service in China and
Washington, DC, United States Department of Justice, Chinese authorities,
United States Marshals Service, Northern District of Illinois, the Great
Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force, and the International Investigations
Branch.
Annually, U.S. Marshals arrest more than 50 percent of all federal fugitives
and serve more federal warrants than all other federal law enforcement
agencies combined. Last year, the U.S. Marshals cleared 36,304 federal
