U.S. Marshals in Pontiac, MI arrested Darron
Dewayne Holsey last night. Holsey, 41 years old was wanted on capital murder
charges by the Montgomery Police Department. Holsey was arrested as he
returned to a residence in Pontiac, MI last night. Holsey is a suspect in
the April 24, 2008 murder of Michael McCall, 33 years old who was found dead
in a residence on Hickman Street.
“Montgomery Police detectives developed Holsey as a suspect in the murder of
Mr. Michael McCall last week and they obtained a capital murder warrant for
him last Friday. They contacted our task force office on Monday of this
week, and together we began the investigation to locate him,” said U.S.
Marshal Jesse Seroyer. “They developed information that Holsey had traveled
to the Pontiac, MI area where he has relatives. That information was passed
on to the U.S. Marshals Detroit Fugitive Apprehension Team. The Marshals in
Detroit conducted surveillance of several residences in the Pontiac, MI area
and were able to safely take Holsey into custody as he showed up at one of
the residences,” added Marshal Seroyer.
“Our Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force was created in 2006, and I’m
proud to say that it’s working just as we hoped it would. We are able to get
critical information regarding fugitives to the appropriate law enforcement
agencies anywhere in the country in a timely manner. No longer can a
fugitive rely on the barriers of distance or the difficulty in dealing with
multiple agencies to avoid capture. We have specific units around the
country that can act on information the moment it’s received. Darron Wayne
Holsey is in custody today because a group of law enforcement officers
hundreds of miles away acted immediately on information that was passed on
from investigators here,” Marshal Seroyer added.
Holsey was transported to the Oakland County Jail in Detroit to await
extradition back to Montgomery.The
Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force is a team comprised of U.S. Marshals
and state and local law enforcement officers in Alabama and Mississippi. The
task force objective is to seek out and arrest fugitives wanted for crimes
of violence and any charges involving sexual assaults on children. Last
year, U.S. Marshals task forces arrested more than 27,000 state and local
fugitives on felony charges.
