U.S. Marshals Close a Major Case Out of Florida

The U.S. Marshals Alaska Fugitive Task Force, in coordination with the Alaska State Troopers, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Drug Enforcement Administration, conducted an enforcement operation yesterday. The U.S. Marshals tracked Kenneth Wayne Lollie, a fugitive on-the-run from Florida, to a remote location north of Fairbanks, Alaska.

Lollie was wanted by Hernando County Sheriffs Office in Tampa, Florida on a warrant for seven separate charges, five of which are counts of Sexual Battery on a Child, one Grand Theft and one Theft. Although there was a weapon located in the residence and Lollie was believed to be armed and extremely dangerous, he was apprehended without incident.

The Alaska Fugitive Task Force pools the full-time resources of the United States Marshals Service, Alaska State Troopers and Anchorage Police Department, along with other federal and local agencies on an ad hoc basis. These concentrated apprehension efforts are focused on state and federal fugitives, specializing in those wanted for crimes of violence, sexual abuse of children and drug trafficking. Since inception in 1999, the task force has arrested over 3200 fugitives in Alaska and extradited over 100 to other jurisdictions from across the United States.
