The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force Announces the Arrest of James Mendoza
 
The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force LogoWaco, TX – On 03/12/2008 the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force along with Task Force Officers from the Temple Police Department arrested James Mendoza at a hotel in Killeen TX. Mendoza was indicted by a federal grand jury for 2 counts of Possession With Intent to Distribute (PWITD) Cocaine and Weapons charges. Mendoza is also wanted for questioning concerning death threats made against a Temple Police Department narcotics officer. After a girlfriend of Mendoza’s was identified and surveilled, Mendoza was seen exiting a hotel room. Mendoza and Crystal Beck-Smith were arrested following a short vehicle pursuit which resulted in Mendoza exiting the vehicle and fleeing on foot. Pursuant to the arrest, $14,740 in U.S. currency and 15 ounces of Crystal Methamphetamine was seized.

LaFayette Collins, United States Marshal for the Western District of Texas said, “This case is a prime example of why we are dedicated to the apprehension of the most dangerous and violent fugitives. The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force will not stop pursuing a fugitive until justice has been served.”
