Child Rapist from Yakima, Arrested by U.S. Marshals Oregon Task Force
 
Beaverton, OR- Last night at 6:20 PM, Wilfredo DeJesus Santos, a 36 year-old white male, was arrested by members of the U.S. Marshals Oregon Fugitive Task Force. The Marshals found Santos hiding under a pile of clothes in a bedroom closet at a family member’s townhouse, located at SW Stepping Stone Drive and Baseline.

A warrant was issued on February 1, 2008, in Yakima County, Washington, Superior Court, charging Wilfredo D. Santos with First Degree Rape of a Child and or First Degree Child Molestation. This is a Class A Felony with the maximum penalty of Life imprisonment and/or a $50,000 fine. The alleged crime occurred in January 2008, and the age of the victim was under 7 years-old. Santos has prior convictions for assault.

The investigative agency, Yakima Police Department, developed information that Santos could be staying with a family member in the Beaverton, Oregon area. The U.S. Marshals Yakima office adopted the case and contacted the U.S. Marshals Oregon Fugitive Task Force for assistance. Several hours later, Santos was found hiding in an upstairs bedroom after task force officers yelled repeatedly for Santos to surrender. Detectives from Washington County, Portland Police Bureau, and deputy U.S. Marshals made the arrest.

Wilfredo Santos was transported by the Washington County Sheriffs Office and lodged on the state warrant at the Washington County Jail. A mug shot photograph has been provided to assist other victims in the Yakima area in coming forward. Please contact the Yakima Police department, 509-575-6200.
