U.S. Marshals Capture Arkansas Sexual Assault
Suspect |
|
Phoenix, AZ – Early this morning an
Arkansas man, wanted for the 2005 sexual assault of a physically helpless
person, was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Phoenix High Intensity Drug
Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Task Force at an
apartment near 23rd Avenue and Indian School in Phoenix.
Marlin Cash, 26, was wanted on a felony warrant by the Pulaski County
Sheriff’s Office in Little Rock, Arkansas for Sexual Assault. It is alleged
that in 2005 Cash sexually assaulted a sleeping man. Upon waking up, the
victim apparently struck Cash in the face causing Cash to flee the area. An
arrest warrant was subsequently issued for the arrest of Cash. Cash’s run
from the law spanned the southern part of the United States, during which
Cash worked for a carnival. In January 2008, Investigators learned that Cash
was in the Phoenix area.
Early this morning Deputy U.S. Marshals and Task Force Officers located Cash
at an apartment in the 2200 block of W. Indian School Rd, at which time he
was arrested without incident. Cash was booked into the Maricopa County Jail
and is awaiting extradition back to Arkansas.
United States Marshal David Gonzales praised the work of Deputies and law
enforcement officers adding, “The United States Marshals Service, along with
our state and local partners, will continue to use every available resource
to locate and arrest sexual predators that try and hide in the Valley.”
In 2007 Detectives in Arkansas solicited the public’s help in locating Cash.
