The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force
Arrests One of Waco's Most Wanted |

Waco,
TX
– The United States Marshals Service sponsored Lone Star Fugitive
Task Force (LSFTF) announces the arrest of 29 year old Adrian Scott
Mclendon. Mclendon was wanted on numerous felony warrants by the
Waco Police Department, Mclennan County Sheriff’s Office, Hill
County Sheriff’s Office, and the Texas Department of Public Safety
for felony evading by vehicle (3 counts), aggravated assault,
domestic violence, and a state parole violation. Mclendon was listed
as one of the Waco Police Departments Top 10 most wanted fugitives
and has an extensive violent criminal history.
On 12/11/2007 the LSFTF made preparations in an attempt to arrest
Mclendon at an associate’s address developed through a confidential
informant. Before the takedown team could assemble, Mclendon left
the residence in a vehicle. True to form, this culminated into a
high speed pursuit by the Dept. of Public Safety. Mclendon fled
through an apartment complex, exiting onto a busy thoroughfare,
driving up one-way roads against opposing traffic all while at a
high rate of speed and on rain soaked roads. In the interest of
public safety, DPS called off the pursuit and Mclendon disappeared.
On 12/13/2007 the LSFTF was conducting early morning surveillance at
an address in Waco when a subject matching Mclendon’s description
was observed in the doorway to the residence. A state search warrant
was then obtained to enter the residence and after several attempts
to knock announce by the task force, the door was breached by force.
After warnings were given by the K-9 handler, the K-9 entered the
residence and Mclendon surrendered without further incident.
United States Marshal for the Western District of Texas LaFayette
Collins said, “The pursuit of this fugitive highlights not only what
the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force does but that we believe in and
espouse the ‘Teamwork’ way of conducting business. Getting the bad
guy in jail is the most important mission.”
