Q: How many other hearing locations does the Baltimore Immigration Court
have jurisdiction over?
A: Baltimore has jurisdiction over the Maryland State Correctional
Institutions.
Q: May I have a telephonic hearing?
A: The Baltimore Immigration Judges do not permit telephonic
hearings. They encourage the use of the pleading formats contained in the Immigration
Court Practice Manual.
Q: Where do I pay fees for applications?
A: The Immigration Court does not accept fees for applications.
All application fees are paid to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) office located on the 1st floor of the
Fallon Federal Building.
Q: Where do I pay a bond?
A: All bonds are paid with DHS Detention and Deportation on the
6th floor of the Fallon Federal Building.
Q: When I file my documents with the Court, can I leave DHS'
copies with you?
A: No. Documents served on the Court must also be served on the
DHS Trial Attorneys. They are located on the 7th Floor of the Fallon Federal
Building.
Q: I need to speak to the judge about my case!
A: The Immigration Judges do not speak to individual respondents
about their case. The respondent should consult with his/her attorney or write
a letter to the judge.
Q: My attorney needs a copy of this document; can you copy
it for me?
A: The Court has the discretion to provide parties or their legal
representatives with a copy of the hearing records without charge and subject
to the availability of court resources.
Self service copying is not available. Kinkos is located at 36 S. Charles Street on the corner of Lombard and Charles.
Q: May I use your telephone to call my attorney?
A: All visitors to the Court must use the public telephones located
in the lobby of the Fallon Federal Building.
Q: May I bring my children to court with me?
A: If the children are not in proceedings, it is recommended that
a responsible adult wait with them in the reception area.
