Moderately Effective

In general, a program rated Moderately Effective has set ambitious goals and is well-managed. Moderately Effective programs likely need to improve their efficiency or address other problems in the programs' design or management in order to achieve better results.
  • Program needs an ambitious agenda to continue forward at the pace required in the face of the rapidly emerging technological threats in the world.
  • The program now has strong performance measures, but some targets are under development. The program has not yet undertaken an independent evaluation of sufficient scope and quality.

Improvement Plan

About Improvement Plans

We are taking the following actions to improve the performance of the program:

  • Working with Congress to consolidate the Emerging Threats and Rapid Prototyping portfolios into one office to increase efficiencies and better leverage assets of each.
  • Conducting an independent, external audit to determine if competitive sourcing and long term performance goals are on track and results can be validated.
