Pesticide Data Program

The purpose of the Pesticide Data Program (PDP) is to collect data on pesticide and food borne pathogen levels in the food supply. The program works cooperatively with a number of State Departments of Agriculture to collect data samples.

This rating describes a program that needs to set more ambitious goals, achieve better results, improve accountability or strengthen its management practices.
  • The PDP program in USDA's Agricultural Marketing Service supplies data to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to reflect pesticide residues on fruits and vegetables in the US food supply. This data is used by EPA to assist in regulatory decisions that affect agricultural production and in pesticide registration and re-registration process.
  • The Agricultural Marketing Service utilizes cooperative agreements with state departments of agriculture to collect pesticide data samples for the program.
