TVA's Fuel Cost Adjustment

TVA's October 1 Fuel Cost Adjustment, announced in mid-August, was based on fuel costs in the month of July. Some fuel costs have declined since then, but costs have remained highly volatile with large, sudden swings, both higher and lower. One unfortunate fact remains: Even after some fuel-cost declines, overall costs are still well above the average costs we experienced in 2007.

Just as TVA's Fuel Cost Adjustment decreased 2.7 percent in January 2007, the FCA will decrease again when total fuel costs move lower in a subsequent quarter. Like you, we hope that happens sooner rather than later. Read more in this FAQ
