FY-2003 WHIP Contract Information

The following three maps display information on the Wildlife Habitat Incentives Program (WHIP) contracts that were obligated in fiscal year 2003.

The voluntary program encourages creation of high quality wildlife habitats that support wildlife populations of National, State, Tribal, and local significance. The funding provides technical and financial assistance to landowners and others to develop upland, wetland, riparian, and aquatic habitat areas on their property. In FY-2003, NRCS allocated more than $16 million to enroll more than 2,000 contracts covering nearly 300,000 acres into the program. Click on each map's Data link for detail information.
