Precision Indoor Personnel Location and Tracking for Emergency Responders Workshop
August 4-6, 2008 in Worcester, Massachusetts
This third annual technology workshop will provide a forum for researchers and developers to share technical knowledge about the indoor location and tracking of emergency response personnel. It will focus on zero preinstalled infrastructure tracking—that is, systems that do not require any previously installed wiring or equipment, such as that required by radio frequency identification systems. The workshop will further focus on systems that provide the incident command post with complete tracking and position information on all equipped personnel. Simpler approaches ("homing devices") will also be considered for the workshop, and a session will be dedicated to the physiological monitoring of first responders. Select representatives of the governmental and user communities will participate.

The Future of Continuity of Operations (COOP) and Telework Conference
August 6–7, 2008 in Washington, D.C.
All federal, state, local, and county agencies need continuity of operations and telework plans to ensure the performance of their essential functions during any emergency or situation that may disrupt normal operations. This conference will bring together government officials, business continuity planners, emergency responders, security personnel, and the private sector to examine the developing of such plans, the benefits of teleworking, how far agencies have come, agency goals, and the future of continuity of operations and telework planning.

Enforcement Expo

Enforcement Expo conference sessions will cover topics such as Active Shooter Response tactics, off-duty law enforcement encounters, fraudulent documents, school violence threat assessment, developments in search and seizure law, death notification, and high-risk traffic stops.
