    FAQs:
    Q. Who benefits from the waiver?
    A. . The Corps is waiving day use and camping fees for active service personnel and DoD civilians on mid or post deployment (reintegration) leave from duty in a hostile fire zone such as Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and other deployments to support GWOT. The waiver also applies to all immediate family members accompanying the service person on the visit.

    Q. Are there any exceptions to the campground fee waiver?
    A. Camping fees will not be waived for on-line reservations made through Recreation.gov. The waiver will only apply to camping fees on a walk up and space available basis, and for NRRS reservations made through the call center.

    Q. Why aren’t camping fees waived when making an online reservation?
    A. Recreation.gov website is currently not programmed to accept waivers.

    Q. Are there exceptions to the day use fee waiver?
    A. No, not for typical day use fees. However, the waiver does NOT apply to Annual Pass purchases. Nor does it apply to special facility, special activity or special event permit fees.

    Q. How is the waiver being advertised?
    A. A press release has been issued. Information is being distributed through the Army CSM chain, News Media, Soldiers Magazine, and Armed Forces Recreation Society.

    Q. Should we put up signs about the waiver at the honor vaults?
    A. We do not recommend putting up signs or otherwise broadly announcing this waiver to the general public since that could potentially provide opportunities for abuse.

    Q. Will information about the waiver be advertised on the ReserveUSA website?
    A. No. We don't want to advertise it through the NRRS website since the waiver does not apply to internet reservations.

    Q. How do we handle the waiver in Park Office?
For Camping: Go ahead and walk the customer in or enter the reservation and change the fees to $0. When the window pops up asking why, enter "Military furlough from service in GWOT”. Do not enter camping fee waivers as a POS, since this does not count toward the campsite utilization and makes it hard to track if needed.
For Day Use: Go ahead and walk the customer in under the appropriate day use POS item and change the fees to $0. In the REMARKS box at the bottom of the screen enter, "Military furlough from service in GWOT" as reason for the waiver.

Corps Castle Item restricted to U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and will open in a new window.
