Simple, Fun, Conservation Lessons and Activities
Each lesson and activity is teacher-tested and can be easily incorporated
into your agenda for science instruction. Lessons start with a conceptual
framework for energy conservation and are tied to Washington, Oregon,
Idaho and Montana state benchmarks and standards.
Lessons and Activities
- Conserve in Your Classroom
Its HUGE! Its FUN! It’s an energy conservation poster puzzle.
The poster depicts energy use and waste in a classroom. Incorporate
energy conservation into your regular teaching program. Click
to download the teacher
lesson guide and student activity
(this one is a big file and may take some time to download).
- Conserve in Your Room
The coloring page and chart depict energy use and waste in a child’s
bedroom. Many of the same energy use and waste elements found
in the "Conserve in Your Classroom" poster puzzle can
be found in this activity. Have your students take it home to
their parents to reinforce energy conservation in the home. Click
to download the teacher
lesson guide and student
activity.
- Conserve in Your Home – Energy Saving Tips
These energy saving tips are age appropriate conservation measures
your student can do at home. This activity can be given to the
student at any point during the instruction of the conservation
lesson plans and activities. Students and their parents learn
more ways to use energy wisely. Click to download the teacher
lesson guide and student
activity.
Energy Conservation Starts in Your Classroom is reproducible.
No need to send away for original copies: all of the lesson plans, activities, coloring pages, charts and handouts are available on this web site.
