Second Regional Science Product Expo

EPA's Region 9 Office will host the second in a series of Science Product Expos on February 8, 2005 in San Francisco. The Science Product Expo Series showcases science products for use in protecting human health and the environment. Representatives from industry, consulting firms, state and local governments, and the interested public are invited to learn how EPA science and engineering tools can be used to measure or reduce pollutants and protect public health, and to interact with the developers of these technologies.

This event will feature three EPA "ready to use" products addressing rapid detection of harmful bacteria in water at beaches; removing pollutants, such as arsenic, from drinking water; and allowing simple, rapid, and inexpensive mercury measurements in solids, such as fish tissues. Participants will explore product uses and applications with EPA scientists during the afternoon sessions.

The event will run from 9 am to 4 pm at the U. S. EPA Region 9 Office at 75 Hawthorne Street in San Francisco. For those unable to travel to San Francisco, the Science Product Expo will be simultaneously webcast. For more information about the expo, contact Sarah Bauer (202) 564-3267.
