Where You Live

Many state and local air agenices are working to reduce emissions from hydronic heaters, in part by developing regulations. Click on a state below or select one from the drop-down box to find information about regulations; reporting a smoke nuisance to your state or local agency; or general state information about hydronic heaters. Many states do not have specific information related to hydronic heaters on their Web sites; in those cases, we have linked to the state air agency home page or to a page closely related to hydronic heater issues. You may want to search at those locations for information about "air toxics" or "particle pollution."

You also may want to consult the Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation, Air Pollution Control Division's page on state-by-state regulations governing hydronic heaters.
