About Office of Technology Partnerships

The Office of Technology Partnerships (OTP) is part of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Technology Services Operating Unit.
   
Mission: OTP enables technology transfer from NIST laboratories to promote US competitiveness by:
       
    Promoting both formal and informal collaboration opportunities for NIST researchers including facilitating Cooperative Research and Development Agreements (CRADA) and Material Transfer Agreements (MTA)  
     
    Coordinating Facility Use Agreements
     
    Managing NIST intellectual property (inventions, patents, licenses, trademarks)
     
    Managing the NIST Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Program
     
    Supporting NIST Associates and Guest Researchers
     
    Strengthening awareness of NIST technology transfer
       
Vision: OTP will be a model technology transfer organization providing excellent service to support NIST laboratories and external partners.
