Slide 15: Primary MDR TB in US-born vs. Foreign-born
Persons, United States, 1993-2000 This graph highlights primary
MDR TB in US-born versus foreign-born persons. Although the percentage
of MDR TB was more than 2% in each group in 1993, the percentage of MDR
TB in the US-born continued to decrease to less than 1% (0.6% in 2000),
whereas the percentage in foreign-born persons has remained above 1%.
As a result, the proportion of primary MDR TB cases reported in foreign-born
persons increased from approximately 25% in 1993 to 70% in 2000. |
