Welcome and Congratulations Class of 2012!

THE ADVENTURE BEGINS: Reporting-In Day (or R-Day) is both a beginning and an end. It is a chance to celebrate past accomplishments and reflect on a future of service and tradition. For incoming cadets it is a day of excitement, nervousness and anticipation. For parents, it is a day of reminiscense, and for all, it is a day of pride.

R-Day marks the the first day of the time-honored tradition of Swab Summer. This exciting and intense seven-week training period forms the foundation of each cadet's Academy experience and military career. Honor, Respect and Devotion to Duty are the core values on which Swab Summer is based. Swabs emerge highly motivated and well trained Coast Guard men and women who are ready to join the USCGA Corps of Cadets.

June 30, 2008: The U.S. Coast Guard Academy welcomes family, friends and
members of the Class of 2012 to Reporting-In Day!
