Is anyone aware of a training in Washington, D.C. in December that is addressing the new citizenship test? I've heard rumors, but have not received any specific information.

Susan,
Our program uses CASAS(Comprehensive Adult Student Assessment System) for
placement tests, pre- and post-tests. We receive grant funding from the
state for the lower level ESOL classes, and MD is a "CASAS state". The CASAS
#20 Reading and Listening test has been has been accurate for placement. We
use the Listening series #51-56 of CASAS for most of the levels except
beginning literacy. For that, we use CASAS Reading #27-28 (which is mostly
pictures). We report learner progress to the state via the pre- and
post-test information.

Here is the contact information for CASAS:

Hope this is helpful.
