We receive grant funding from the state for the lower level ESOL classes, and MD is a "CASAS state". The CASAS #20 Reading and Listening test has been has been accurate for placement. We use the Listening series #51-56 of CASAS for most of the levels except beginning literacy. For that, we use CASAS Reading #27-28 (which is mostly pictures). We report learner progress to the state via the pre- and post-test information. Here is the contact information for CASAS: http://www.casas.org/casasnewweg/index.cfm Hope this is helpful.
