Keven & all, please help me to see the error of my ways (so to speak): quote me. where do i 'paint all immigrants' any way at all? i bend over backwards to avoid generalizing and when i do generalize i qualify it ad nauseum--even if it's only to avoid this type of unwarranted criticism. > Your party affiliation doesn't put you in a box, your narrow-minded judgment of > "immigrants" does. To dismiss the struggles of every immigrant, casting them as > social parasites, based solely on your experience with one group, is reductive and > childish. Where did your parents come from? Don't be so proud. But for an > accident of birth, you'd be in line at INS too. Show me, and everyone else, where i narrow-mindedly 'dismissed the struggle of every immigrant, casting them as social parasites'. Show me, and everybody else, where i was proud; this typecasting and generalizing speaks poorly of the professionalism that undergirds-- or should undergird-- dialog on the nifl-esl listserv. I dont want/ need an apology from u, but one may be in order. Likewise, i'll apologize if u'll toss me the bone of a quote that supports your accusations. Cordially, Joe
