Our local Head Start has educational plans for all of its teachers (many of whom have limited English and also without a GED). Within 4 years they need to have an AA in Early Childhood Education and they are not going to get it at the rate they are going now. What I envision is a sheltered AA program where they would get their AA in 4 years rather than 2 years. Head Start has been around a long time and has lots of resources and maybe something like this already exists.
