Barb - the Family Reading series I mentioned is a collection of ten
children's books of different types, a teacher's guide with lesson plans,
and a photocopy master book. Each lesson focuses on one of the children's
books, along with one related adult reading selection. Adults discuss the
books and their selections in a classroom setting, then do PACT time with
the children, reading that lesson's book together and discussing it.

You can get a better look at the series by looking in the most recent
(Spring 2003) catalog from New Reader's Press - it's on page 70. You can get
a catalog by calling 800-448-8878. Or you can go online at
www.newreaderspress.com. The ISBN number for the classroom set is
0-88336-973-7. Hope this helps!!

Any suggestions on parenting materials to use during ESL class with
Spanish-speaking migrants in our Even Start family literacy program?
Amanda Wendt mentioned a Family Reading book a while back. What is that?
