State HomepagesThis page contains links to the main page for each state. In an effort to make the state homepage more marketable and accessible, many states have adopted catchy names such as "Arizona @ Your Service," "MyFlorida.com," and have adopted website addresses (URLs) that are easy to remember and communicate. Page designs vary widely, but usually state government homepages provide ways to access state agencies, have quick links to commonly requested topics such as vehicle registration, feature current initiatives such as homeland security implementation or social service programs, include state history, and publish news. Often, state government homepages have links to portals for specialized audiences, such as business, students, tourists, or other governments. Portals gather all the information or services these groups need from various agencies on one page. Most state homepages have simple and advanced search engines, site maps, directories and other finding tools. Some sites allow visitors to personalize pages to facilitate the conduct of business or publication of personalized news.
